Meters and current transformers

An energy meter measures power flow at the building's grid connection point. A hybrid inverter uses this data to charge the battery with surplus, power the home from the battery and limit export to the grid. Without a meter, the storage system does not know when to charge or discharge.

  • Single- and three-phase meters - including Chint DTSU666, Eastron SDM630 and F&F.
  • Dedicated meters - Sigenergy, SolarEdge, SolaX, Hoymiles and Huawei.
  • Current transformers - for indirect measurement at higher currents.

The meter must be supported by the inverter, so check the list of compatible models in its documentation.
