PV switchboards
A solar switchboard combines the installation's protection devices in one enclosure: isolators, fuses and surge protectors. It protects the panels, inverter and building wiring against surges and short circuits. This category offers over 130 ready-made switchboards.
Types
- DC switchboards - on the panel side, with string protection.
- AC switchboards - on the grid side, single- and three-phase.
- AC/DC switchboards - both sides in one enclosure.
- Combiner boxes - for combining strings and connecting energy storage.
What to check
- number of PV strings and inverter MPPT inputs,
- single- or three-phase system and AC protection current,
- surge protector type (Type 2 or 1+2) and DC voltage,
- enclosure rating, e.g. IP65 for outdoor installation.
