Fire Safety and Rapid Shutdown

Photovoltaic panels generate DC voltage as long as they are exposed to light. A fire safety switch disconnects PV strings right next to the panels, so the cables routed through the building are de-energised during firefighting operations. Increasingly, such protection is required by insurers or fire safety assessors.

  • Tigo Rapid Shutdown - shutdown at individual panel level.

The number of strings supported by the switch should match the number of strings in the installation.
