On-grid inverters
A grid-tied inverter converts DC from the panels into AC and synchronises it with the grid. Energy is used in real time in the building, with any surplus exported to the grid. This is the simplest and most affordable type of inverter for systems where you’re not planning battery storage.

How to choose an on-grid inverter
- Number of phases - Three-phase models are the most common; single-phase units are used in smaller systems with a single-phase connection.
- Power output - from 0,75 to 125 kW. In homes, inverters up to 10 kW are most commonly chosen; businesses and solar farms use models in the tens of kilowatts.
- Number of MPPTs - Several independent inputs let you connect panels on different roof sections.
