PV distribution boards

A PV distribution board consolidates protective devices in a single enclosure: isolators, fuses and surge protection devices (SPDs). It protects the panels, inverter and the building’s electrical installation against surges and short circuits. In this category you’ll find over 130 ready-made distribution boards.

Types of distribution boards

  • DC distribution boards - on the panel side, with protection for PV strings.
  • AC distribution boards - on the grid side, in single- and three-phase versions.
  • AC/DC distribution boards - both sides of the system in a single enclosure.
  • Combiner boxes - for combining strings and connecting energy storage systems.

What to look for

  • the number of PV strings and MPPT inputs on the inverter,
  • single- or three-phase arrangement and the AC-side protective device rating,
  • type of surge protection device (Type 2 or 1+2) and DC voltage,
  • enclosure protection rating, e.g. IP65 for outdoor installation.
